Susan Kent for Senate
Working together for a better tomorrow
It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of Woodbury, Landfall, and the southern parts of Maplewood and Oakdale in the Minnesota Senate.
In this time, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with and listening to many neighbors – hearing concerns and ideas to make our great state and communities stronger for all. I’m grateful for your visits to the Capitol, your participation at Town Halls, and your calls and emails. As we figure out how to connect in this time of COVID-19, please know that I cherish the health and safety of each of you and your loved ones.
Representing you in the Senate during the pandemic and the historic response to the murder of George Floyd has made even more apparent the need to make sure Minnesota can fully offer a bright, fair, and just future for all. Some have said we need to return to normal. But it’s clear that “normal” hasn’t worked for far too many Minnesotans. This awareness has led to a closer examination of the health, economic, and social challenges before us, and it is here that I see opportunities. We must do better.
Minnesotans care deeply about our state and each other. To do so, we must champion the things we know will ensure the well-being of our communities: affordable health care so an accident or unexpected illness doesn’t put a family’s financial security at risk; state support to provide our children with a world-class education; good jobs that sustain our families; clean water and air for everyone, everywhere; and a public safety system that protects all of us, no exceptions.
In working together to create these solutions, we are stronger. We’re building a long-lasting movement that puts Minnesotans and their priorities before division and cynicism. As your state senator, I will always put our communities first and set aside partisanship to build a better future for all Minnesotans.
With deepest gratitude,
Susan Kent, Minnesota State Senator | District 53
